In this case, however, we've done if for you and present you now with the most common shopping scams out there!

“Smishing”
You may have heard of the place where this term derives from. “Phishing” is when you get an e-mail from what you think is a trustworthy source like your personal bank or even PayPal telling you that there's a problem with your account. The e-mail will often ask your private information like your user name and password but when you respond, your information is stolen and your account is hacked. “Smishing” is this scam with a twist. Instead of an e-mail, recipients receive a text message and are told to call a toll free number where you'll then provide all the personal information. If you get such a text, don't respond until you're absolutely certain the source is legitimate. If you're not sure, do a Google search on the phone number and find out who's calling you.

Small Charges
Criminals can get hold of your credit card information with less effort than you may think. With that information, con-artists can make what may seem like very small charges of anywhere from 20 cents to ten dollars. These charges will appear on your bill with names that might sound legitimate but are quite the opposite. They may seem like small amounts but ten charges of ten dollars over a month period adds up. To prevent yourself from being victimized, make sure to look over your bills carefully each month. Not sure about a charge? Don't be afraid to call your bank and find out!

Skimming
They're one of the most dangerous machines out there for scams and are especially tough to find.
