Rather than just placing folded newspapers in a box, crumble the papers, as it will provide greater protection. There needs to be a thick bed of paper at the bottom of the box. Usually, a 4-5 inch layer of crumbled papers will help absorb the shock. After the items are packed, it is also important to put at least 3-4 additional inches of paper on the top.
