Spruce Up Your Space: 10 Ways to Make Your Bedroom a Comfortable Oasis On the Cheap – Part Two

Still need some ideas to make your bedroom your paradise? Check out Part One of Spruce Up Your Space: 10 Ways to Make Your Bedroom a Comfortable Oasis On the Cheap from Moving Squad.

Use Your Photos
Your pictures make excellent art! What could be better than having reminders of the people who you care about all around you? Buy a few inexpensive small frames at a craft store. You can usually get them for less then a few dollars each if you look around a bit. Put your photos inside and hang your framed pictures around your room. You may even want to cluster them together in a shape or an abstract pattern. You can buy a few different sized frames in a couple of different colors to ensure that your display ends up being dynamic and interesting to look at.

Switch Up Your Lighting
What kind of lighting do you currently have in your bedroom? If you've just moved in, you might want to switch it up anyway to further personalize your space. Be careful of overhead lighting, as it can give the space a sterile, harsh feel. Shop around and see if you can get your hands on a floor or table lamp instead. You saved a little bit by checking out our Moving Squad testimonials so if you need to, spring for a lamp that you really like. Lighting is an important part of any room and it can illuminate the space, giving it a softer glow if done correctly.

You Need Some Privacy
Do you know how you'd like to cover your windows? Everyone wants to know the new neighbors who just moved in next door, so you should make sure you're covered – literally. Curtains are a great way to shade your windows and give your room a feeling of being put-together. You can also be more creative with a color scheme with curtains then you could be with blinds or shades. Keep your look simple and make sure the fabric goes with your colors and style in the rest of your room.

Add Some Pillows
They might seem like an insignificant detail but pillows can add a polished feel to any bedroom while integrating some of your style into the design. Don't overdue it.(You don't want to spend ten minutes each night throwing pillows off your bed.) A few will do just fine. Be sure to choose bold and modern designs and feel free to make it interesting by switching up your shapes and textures. However, you'll want to keep the palette in the same color family for some uniformity in your design.
