Your Closet Can Speak Volumes About You – Make It Say a Mouthful – Part Two

Cant get enough organization? Neither can we! Take a look at Part One of Your Closet Can Speak Volumes About You – Make It Say a Mouthful from Moving Squad before you continue reading.

Shelving
There are endless options for you here. Many stores carry everything from permanent fixtures like wooden slats that can be screwed into a wall to portable fixtures. These portable options usually have double sided tape on the backs of them that is specially designed to easily come off should you have to move the shelf elsewhere.

Another great option can be a collapsible shelving unit. This hangs from the top rod of your closet and can be used to provide extra storage for your t-shirts, jeans or anything else that you would fold. Make sure you know what kinds of things you’ll be using the shelving units for before you purchase them though. Measure your prospective shelving and make sure it will be a good fit for what you’ll be storing inside them.

Storage Containers Aren’t Limited to Your Tupperware
Try to visualize your Tupperware multiplied by 20 and you’ve got the ideal addition to your closet! Storage containers come in all shapes, sizes and materials. You can purchase plastic receptacles but many stores also offer wood or wire options for someone desiring a different look. The plastic containers can be useful. Many of them are completely clear, which can be extremely helpful for those times when you don’t want to open every container to figure out its contents.

Hangers vs. Hooks
You’ve heard it before: No wire hangers! It’s not just a famous line from a movie. It actually has some truth behind it. The wire will leave your clothes looking misshapen and your more delicate items like spaghetti strap shirts, lingerie or dresses will fall right off. You don’t have to become one of those people who have to have their hangers limited to a monochromatic design plan but what you should do is make sure that they are all either wood, plastic or padded hangers.

Wood hangers lend themselves to a more polished look and padded hangers work well for clothing that might be prone to slipping, so choose accordingly. Also look for hangers that serve more than one purpose. A large clip attachment will allow your suits to stay together and your skirts to stay neat. Ask your moving company! Many sell things designed to get you settled into your new home like hangers. Have you read our Moving Squad testimonials yet?
