Benefits of Moving During the Spring

Here is Part 2 of of our feature piece on reasons to move during the spring. In case you missed it, Part 1 is here!

If you are not just spring housecleaning, but also moving from one location to another, these packing tips apply even more. If you are moving to a new location, you'll want to check out moving companies who will be as careful of your belongings as you are. This starts with finding moving companies that service your area. Read their print ads and look at their websites. Read online reviews, where you probably won't ready anything that says that Moving Squad sucks. Instead, read the reviews. Reviews help you know that the company does what it says it will do on their website, in their printed material and when you speak to the company directly by phone. While it is likely not all reviews will be positive no matter how good a company is, look at the tone of the reviews overall. This applies to reviews of any company, including Moving Squad reviews. Look at what they do right.

Not every season is as prime as Spring for moving. Summer tends to be hot, humid and sticky. Just the thought of packing up and moving those boxes out of the attic and the garage in the heat is exhausting. If you spend too much time outdoors getting ready for the move, you'll need to wear sunscreen protection and a hat so you don't end up with a nasty sunburn.

Autumn cools things down and the leaves turn a variety of colors. Then they fall--on everything and into everything. If you have trees on the property, leaves will invariably drift into the house as you move boxes and furniture in and out. Leaves crunch underfoot and manage to find their way into every little crevice. If you move in the Fall, expect to find leaves from your old home riding along to your new location.

Winter is tricky and can be dangerous for those who move during the coldest months of the year. While sledding, making snow people and ice skating are fun winter activities, trying to move in cold falling snow or holding a heavy box while slipping on ice in the driveway is no fun at all. Winter days are short and night seems to fall way too early when you need the time to find, sort and pack everything that needs to go along.

Spring is different. By Springtime, the days are growing longer, the weather has moderated and early rains have given way to warm, but not blistering hot, days with a hint of a breeze. With the coming of Spring a person feels a surge of energy that makes the move less of a stress and hassle than at other times of the year. If a person has to move, Spring is a good time to relocate, whether that relocation is across town or across the country.
